City Sues Hyundai, Kia Following Car Thefts

In a lawsuit filed last week, the city alleged the automakers contributed to Chicago’s “car theft crisis” by failing to equip U.S. vehicles sold between 2011 and 2022 with anti-theft technology. Hyundai and Kia cars make up more than half of cars stolen in Chicago this year, according to the city. [WTTW]
