Cook County’s First Week Without Cash Bail
Hearings were slower than usual during the county’s first week of bail reform but otherwise proceeded without glitches. Instead of setting money bonds, judges must now decide whether to release a defendant with conditions or hold them in jail if they pose a risk or may not appear for trial. [WBEZ]

More Ramp Closures on the Kennedy
Several ramps will be closed for repairs on the inbound Kennedy Expressway from the Edens Expressway junction to Ohio Street. Many of these ramps will be closed through late October. [Block Club Chicago]
Reconsidering the Red Line Extension
The CTA’s $3.7 billion Red Line extension plan will bring four new stations from 95th to 130th streets. While there currently is no CTA L service south of 95th Street, should the CTA take on the expansion when Metra already serves the area? [Sun-Times]

Writers Guild of America Reaches Tentative Deal
