Alder Pushes 8 PM Curfew for Minors

After a tourist was shot by stray gunfire outside a Streeterville movie theater Sunday, Ald. Brian Hopkins says he plans to reintroduce an 8 p.m. curfew ordinance for unaccompanied minors. Hopkins says police told him a group of about 50 teens was seen leading up to the shooting. [Block Club Chicago]

Community, Lawsuit Stop Toxic Dump Plan

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will now seek a new site for contaminated material from the Calumet River after Southeast Side community members and an environmental group’s lawsuit opposed an expansion plan.
