ICE Accused of Making Multiple Illegal Arrests
Chicago immigration advocates are suing federal authorities for arresting 22 people in the Midwest, including one U.S. citizen, without warrants. The lawsuit claims that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement violated a 2022 settlement restricting the agency’s arrest practices. [Block Club]
Judge Orders Fast-Track of Accessible Intersections
A federal judge ordered Chicago to accelerate updates to 2,713 intersections for pedestrians who are visually impaired. With only 85 intersections updated so far, the city must complete about 71% of these in the next decade. [WTTW]
