April 2, 2025 · — Ava Wojnowski

Another Congressional Investigation into Northwestern
The Committee on Education and the Workforce sent a letter to Northwestern University’s law school claiming that the university is using taxpayer-supported resources to “engage in progressive-left political advocacy.” The committee now asks for the budgets and funders of the school’s legal clinics. New Traffic Cameras in the City
Sixteen new speed cameras were activated yesterday around the city to balance the budget. The cameras are mostly placed near parks and schools. For the first 30 days, drivers will receive a warning if they exceed the speed limit. Following that, a two-week blackout period will occur, after which drivers caught going just six miles over the limit will receive tickets. [WGN9]
How Tariffs Will Impact Rent Prices
Tariffs on steel and aluminum could force Chicago apartment developers to delay new projects. Materials will become more expensive, which may cause developers to pass costs on to tenants. This may lead to higher rent and fewer choices when looking for housing. [Tribune 🔒]
