CTU Ratifies Contract With CPS

After nearly a year of negotiations, the Chicago Teachers Union has ratified a four-year contract with Chicago Public Schools. Wins for teachers include salary increases, extra prep time, additional librarians, and smaller class sizes. This is the first time in a decade the contract came together without a strike. Illinois Humanities Loses Federal Funding

The Chicago-based nonprofit learned this month the Trump’s administration cut their funding by $2 million — one-third of its annual budget. The reduction threatens free cultural programs, resources, museums, festivals, and more across Chicago and the state. [Block Club]
