May 8, 2025 · — Emmi Mack
Hey there! ⭐️ As the weather heats up and tourists come flocking, City Cast Chicago is revisiting which attractions deserve their one-star reviews.
We’re also taking a deeper look at a now-beloved Chicago attraction: the river. Back in the 1800s, it definitely deserved one star on account of all the bubbling pig innards and copious human waste. Enjoy! ✨

Neighbor Shoutouts
And now, your Neighbor shoutouts! Each week, we’ll hear from a few City Cast Chicago Neighbors about their fave local spots.
- Grace M. of East Washington Park is shouting out Longmont Dairy: “I'd like to shout out Longmont Dairy, a family-owned milk and food delivery service that still uses old fashioned glass bottles. I am also obsessed with their cold brew. And their eggs are cheaper than any grocery stores!”
- Julio L. of Pilsen is shouting out Huck Finn Restaurant: “I work at a popular donut shop and often get asked where else in the city I like to get donuts from. Huck Finn does classic-style donuts very well in addition to their awesome diner offerings. My favorites are their red velvet cake and cinnamon rolls. They’ve been a Chicago staple for me for decades.”
- Emily C. of Avondale is shouting out Pilates Advantage: “Pilates Advantage in Uptown is an amazing studio inclusive of all abilities, ages, and body types. Super cute space, too!”
