Pritzker Says Homeland Security Asking for Troops
Gov. JB Pritzker said the Illinois National Guard obtained a memo to the Defense Department requesting 100 military personnel "for the protection of ICE personnel and facilities" in Illinois. It's unclear who might be deployed when, but officials are preparing. [Sun-Times]

Apply for Property Tax Relief
Cook County has rolled out a $15 million property tax relief program that will provide $1,000 payments to qualifying homeowners whose tax bills jumped at least 50% from 2021 to 2023. Applications are open now through Oct. 10. [CBS Chicago]
