Alex Pretti Was Born in Park Ridge
Pretti, the man fatally shot by an immigration agent in Minneapolis, was born at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Now, a memorial to Pretti is growing outside the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. (Pretti was a VA nurse.) A candlelight vigil is scheduled there Wednesday. [ABC 7, Wisconsin Watch]

Pritzker vs. State Farm
State Farm increased premiums for homeowners last year by an average of 27% — and there’s nothing Illinois can do about it. For now. Gov. JB Pritzker and other Democrats are pushing legislation that would force refunds if insurance prices hikes are classified as “unfair or excessive.” [WBEZ]
