First Debate to Replace Durbin Gets Heated

Three frontrunner Democrats vying for Sen. Dick Durbin’s open seat — Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (8th) and U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (2nd) — joined for a fiery first debate. Stratton went on the attack, slamming Krishnamoorthi for accepting money from an ICE contractor. Krishnamoorthi said those funds were donated to migrant rights groups. Meanwhile, Kelly said Stratton’s commercial was paid for “by dark money.” [Sun-Times]
