🎒 Could remote learning protect Chicago students?
February 2, 2026 · — Natalia Aldana
Hey there! City Cast editor Natalia Aldana here, filling in for Emmi.
💫 Chicago will never forget Catherine O’Hara shouting “Kevin!” in “Home Alone,” making her the iconic movie mom for all millennials. The award-winning actress died Friday and will forever be remembered for her comedic chops in films like “Best in Show,” as the eccentric Delia Deetz in the “Beetlejuice” films, and — one of my personal favorites — as the fabulous Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek.” She was 71.

Pritzker Urges Probe of Trump Immigration Officials

Could Remote Learning Protect Immigrant Students?
The Chicago Teachers Union hopes to negotiate with Chicago Public Schools over remote learning options to protect students amid escalating federal immigration raids. The district says under current rules, the state would have to declare a public health emergency. But CTU vice president Jackson Potter said the system has to respond to “this new terrain, which is more vicious and traumatic.” [Sun-Times]
